Waltz Classes
For newcomers who want to learn the basics of folk waltz and experienced dancers who want to boost their skills and repertoire, Waltz Time offers a variety of lesson series and one-off workshops at Glen Echo Park and other DC-MD-VA venues. Scroll down to find out about our beginner/intermediate four-class series, intermediate/advanced four-class series, and special fast-waltz survival workshop. Students enrolled in a class series benefit not only from improved abilities but also $5 admission to the Glen Echo Waltz Time social dances for the duration of the series. Questions? Beginner/Intermediate Four-Class Series
This series is for both beginners and dancers with some waltz experience. After introducing/reviewing basics, we focus on partnering skills for leads and follows as well as expanding your repertoire. Anyone can lead; anyone can follow. Ideal for social waltzing, date night, wedding dance preparation, or meeting new active people. This class series is available at:
- LYON VILLAGE COMMUNITY HOUSE, ARLINGTON: 7:15-8:15 pm on Tuesdays, June 3rd, 10th, and 24th, and July 1st. Walking distance from Clarendon Metro. Details and Eventbrite Registration
- DAWN CRAFTON DANCE CONNECTION, ROCKVILLE: 7:15-8:15 pm on Wednesdays, July 9th, 16th, and 23rd, and 30th. Walking distance from Rockville Metro. Details and Eventbrite Registration

Intermediate/Advanced Four-Class Series
This beginner/intermediate series is for those who are comfortable with the skills and moves taught in our beginner/intermediate series or who have attended at least four of the regular Sunday social waltzes and are ready to move to the next level. The series will focus on introducing more challenging moves, improving two-way communication between follows and leads, achieving greater musicality, and building your repertoire to interpret different tempos and styles of music. Learn skills that make waltzing in a social dance setting more fun! Anyone can lead; anyone can follow. This class is available at:

Fast-Waltz Survival Workshop
This workshop is intended for social waltzers and beginner dancers planning to attend the annual “Evening with Strauss Ball” the following weekend (Saturday, May 3). You will be introduced to a hybrid waltz style designed to get you elegantly through quick-paced waltzes and bidirectional turns during the uptempo, challenging music played at the Ball. Prepare for the Ball with this specially-priced and practical workshop.
